Newly Opened ARK Walking Trails Print E-mail

Tuesday, November 3, the two-mile system of walking trails were dedicated at Dub Patton Pavilion at Arkabutla Lake, developed in conjunction with the future Arkabutla Lake Wildlife Rehabilitation and nature Center off Hwy. 304.

Larry Jarrett, DeSoto County Greenways coordinator, said the ARK walking trails and 27,000 square-foot wildlife center will someday become the crown jewel of the DeSoto County Greenways program.

The trails are located west of Hernando. From Hernando take Hwy. 304 about 7 miles west toward Eudora. The trail head and gravel parking lot are located on the left of Hwy 304 just before Scenic Lane in the Panther Creek area.
