My friends, I know I’ve been away for a little while but I’ll bet you were doing a lot of the same thing. Trying not to freeze my buns off! But spring has finally sprung officially and dahlin’s I am so ready. Y’all know us southern women, we’ve got to grow our maters in the garden and a few other things. There is nothing like a fresh, homegrown tomato is there? Just pull it off the vine and bite right into it! I’m still not planning on planting until at least April 15 – that may be pushing it by some standards but then if that deadline is good enough for the IRS, it’s good enough for me!
I’ve been out and about in our great county of DeSoto despite the weather. Did y’all know I attended not one, but TWO ground breaking ceremonies in March? The first in Southaven for Tanger Outlets. Now those folks know how to put something together despite the horrible weather. Well, I was pretty cute in my new rain boots but that’s another story. The other was in Horn Lake for the Super Wal-Mart. Both of those new shopping areas will be ready by the end of the year. Can you imagine how much company we’re going to have as everyone begins to shop with us? Why that’s more company than we had at the fall family reunion – and believe me, THAT was a showstopper!
Y’all have a great Easter holiday. If you haven’t already planned something with your little ones, we’ve got something going on in pretty much every city here in DeSoto County. Don’t miss out. Just check out the website of my friends at DeSoto County Tourism: www.sodesoto.com
Talk to y’all soon!
